Once more, Tunas Muda International School entrusted  LIGLA to arrange an excursion study to Bodogol forest. A slight difference from the years before, this year besides (Environmental Systems and Society) and Geography, one more addtional subject will be joining which was Biology. Bodogol forest was chosen because the of its appeal as one of the area of Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park/ Taman Nasional Gunung Gede Pangrango (TNGGP).

Environmental Systems and Society students conducted a comparison of two areas inside Bodogol forest that have gone through succession process. They compare it by collecting abiotic (pH and soil moisture) and biotic factor (plant diversity). They also compared two river sites using  Trent Biotic Index, a comparison was also done to the presence or absence of organic pollutant in the form of E. coli which might be present in the river. Primary productivity data was also taken in order to be compared.

Geography students observed the river. They collected data of the river profile, bed load size, speed of river flow and also other factors such as; pH and dissolved oxygen. Meanwhile Biology students collected microbiological sample from the middle of the river and the river banks.

Four days of activity passed really quick, because there were so many task to do by the students. But the seemingly tight schedule did not dampen their spirits to collect all the data that they need.
